About the RPS Pacific Chapter
Members of the Society living in California felt the need for a local chapter to enable them to participate in programs and activities similar to those set up in the UK. This chapter, founded in 1992, aims to promote photographic excellence through education and cooperation rather than competition, and provides a forum for the viewing and discussion of members' work. Check out our Members' Portfolios.
Informative Non competitive Friendly
RPS-Pacific assists members in their pursuit of the RPS Distinctions (Licentiateship, Associateship or Fellowship) awarded entirely on a body of meritorious work in photography. These are highly prized and create an advanced goal for photographers who have completed their apprenticeship in other local or national clubs.
New Goals Discussions Critiques
The Pacific Chapter holds quarterly meetings, with presentations by notable photographers, demwonstrations of ne techniques, an occasional field-trip, and discussions of members' Work-in-Progress (see our EVENTS page). These take place following a luncheon at a central San Francisco Bay Area location. |
